Welcome to Gîte Mathilde, a detached holiday home on the Saint-Michel-du-Bosc estate, located on the Cotentin Peninsula in Northern Normandy (Manche department).
It is a spacious and versatile house (200 m²) that is ideal for both humans and dogs.
The property spans two floors and features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an additional guest toilet. All rooms are equipped with air purification systems.
The ground floor houses a spacious bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and an open-plan kitchen overlooking the terrace and fields, which are bordered by tall, mature trees.
French doors on the east side provide access to the fully enclosed terrace and garden (featuring 1.20-meter-high fencing). Upstairs, you will find two more (very) spacious bedrooms and a walk-in Italian-style shower. The rooms offer beautiful views of the surrounding hills and Mont Étenclin. The accommodation is situated just 4 km from the lively market town of La Haye-du-Puits and only 13 km from the clean, white sandy beaches and unspoiled dunes of the west coast.

Saint Michel du Bosc is an old priory that was founded in 1153 AD on the site of a former forest chapel. Located on a medieval road named after it, far from the main roads in the municipalities of Lithaire and Varenguebec. For centuries, the estate has lain peacefully in the heart of a regional nature park, the Marais de Cotentin. It is actually more of a hamlet, a tiny village with a number of detached buildings, situated on over 6 hectares, featuring an orchard, a vegetable garden, and its own pond. Here, you will find everything you need to recharge: peace, space, and nature, set amidst a place with a magnificent, centuries-old history of rich French heritage.

Nature, peace, calmness, a strong sense of history, a small piece of paradise. We found all of this here at the Priory of Saint-Michel du Bosc, a *Locus Amoenus* (Latin for 'pleasant place').
Now -after a lot of restoration work- we wish to open it up and reconnect it to the world.
Our first newly restored independent holiday home is built in the 16th century against the old priory wall. We called it “Mathilde” after one of the founders Mathilde de Vernon (1135–1209).
